Jennifer grew up in Columbia, South Carolina where she was active in dance and athletics. At the age of thirteen, she began working out with her mother at The Firm's headquarters in Columbia. Jennifer was lucky enough to have witnessed the filming of The Firm's very first video, and it was here that she first fell in love with the exercise field and began to see it as a lifestyle and career for herself. Jennifer (then Peluso) kept working out at The Firm and became a teacher there at the age of eighteen. She soon became involved with the making of their videos and took part as a the cast member, choreographer and lead in several of their very best workout tapes. In time, Jennifer began to feel that her overall exercise plan was too narrow in scope. She spent the next seven years getting the highest quality training available in Pilates, Yoga and Gyrotonic® from the most respected names in the business including Romana Kryzanowska, Juliu Horvath and Bryan Kest. Once she had the building blocks from all of these different disciplines, Jennifer began formulating her own method by infusing the most effective components from each discipline and adding her own original content. This Body/Mind approach became her passion, and the outcome is Jennifer Gianni's Fusion Pilates Method. |

Embodyment began in a small garage behind Jennifers house in Venice, California. Within a year her client roster was full to overflowing and it was time to expand. Six years and many square feet later, Embodyment is now in a beautiful soothing space and is one of the top studios in Los Angeles. Embodyment has all the latest equipment, but Jennifer is most proud of the high level of training and the expertise of her staff. "The most important thing to me is that we stay at the forefront of what's out there," says Jennifer. "All of the teachers at Embodyment are constantly improving their training. This keeps the studio growing and keeps our clients interested." In 2001, Jennifer opened a sister studio in her hometown of Columbia, South Carolina, and travels there several times a year to offer Teacher Certification through The Physical Mind Institute. While the studio has expanded, it still retains the privacy and personal attention that made it a success with clients in the first place. Embodyment offers private and semi-private (two people) sessions as well as mat and reformer classes that have a maximum of six students. My clients love the one on one attention they get at Embodyment. Its a very private and comfortable environment, says Jennifer. |

Jennifer quickly developed a program that worked for her. She addressed safety by following guidelines from The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and by seeking advice from her own doctor. She credits her Fusion Pilates Method for a quick "bounce back" after her first baby. Fusion Pilates is the result of her in-depth research into what constitutes a safe and effective workout for the pregnant woman. When her clients saw the results Jennifer achieved, the word quickly spread and Jennifer's studio became a Mecca for pre and postnatal women. When one of these clients was upset at having to move away and discontinue her workout, Jennifer had the idea for her Fusion Pilates for Pregnancy workout tape. The video was produced in Jennifer's seventh month of her second pregnancy. Jennifer's studio in Venice, California is used as a laboratory for the formulation of the workout plans that appear in her videos. These workouts were perfected on her own body and on the bodies of her clients. They are proven results from years of research and application. |
